Freelance UX Writer and UX Researcher
I help growing startups and other businesses create a better user experience for the people who use their apps/websites through human-centered content and research.
With consulting experience in UX writing, UX research, UX design, content strategy, and marketing communications, I bring a holistic background that benefits any team I collaborate with.
Services include: UX writing/content design, brand voice and tone, product writing guidelines, content testing, content strategy, wireframes and mockups, UX audits, competitor research, user research/UX research, usability testing, user interviews, and more!
Senior UX Consultant
I served in a Senior UX Researcher role supporting an enterprise product that’s part of the daily workflow for nearly 20,000 internal users. I proactively communicated with product owners, designers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and optimize workflow.
Prior to this, I served as the sole UX Architect for 2 client-facing products that have reached over 500,000 users since their launch in late 2020. In this role, I defined the UX strategy, created high-fidelity mockups and prototypes in Sketch and InVision, and wrote clear and actionable content (including error messages, button copy, confirmation messages, etc.). I independently planned, conducted, and analyzed the findings of 12 usability testing sessions, resulting in new features to increase personalization within one of the products.
Communications Manager
At JCI I led and communicated international member experience research, including surveys and interviews, in order to craft a new brand voice that resonated with members.
I also conducted stakeholder interviews to assist with the redesign of their temporary website. I created all wireframes and web copy for the site.
As the Communications Manager, I was responsible for creating all of the written content for the organization, including: blogs, speeches, event scripts, press releases, annual report content, participant event guides, destination guides, organizational emails, email campaigns, messaging architecture and communication guide, and other marketing strategy documentation.
Communications Specialist
I developed effective communication strategies for a variety of programs by always considering the audience’s goals, motivations, and pain points, as well as collaborating with different departments.
When I was asked to help rewrite the employee handbook, I conducted a competitive analysis of other employee handbooks and facilitated a retrospective-style workshop with recently onboarded employees to get a better understanding of what they wanted and expected. The result was a more relevant, helpful, and usable document.
During my time at Graybar, I wrote blogs, magazine articles, ad copy, executive speeches, press releases, company emails, intranet posts, annual report content, award submissions, and communication strategy documentation.
