We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails developer who possesses a genuine passion for crafting user-friendly products that effectively address real-world challenges. While this role primarily involves individual contribution, there is a potential pathway for growth into a leadership position for those with aspirations in that direction.

There are various types of development work needed to do about our platform: frontend and backend development, business logic implementation, user experience enhancements, work security reviews and improvements, specification and testing, performance optimization, devops. You have the opportunity to choose the areas that interest you the most, where you are most efficient, or where you would like to gain experience and learn.

We use a pretty conservative set of technologies that is rather traditional for the Ruby On Rails ecosystem: Ruby on Rails 7, Rspec, Alpine.js, Stimulus, Tailwind CSS, Git. The basic design and development skills, interest and ability to learn, passion for technologies, mastering and efficiently using them are more important than the knowledge of some specific libraries or tools.

We expect

  • Significant experience with Ruby On Rails and it’s ecosystem on commercial products, deep understanding of the framework (e.g. PostgreSQL beyond ActiveRecord etc),
  • Experience with frontend technologies: JavaScript (ideally some Stimulus/Hotwire), HTML/CSS (ideally Tailwind CSS).
  • A true self-starter able to deliver the complete solutions: working without close supervision, testing your own code, thinking through the edge cases.

Clues that you can be a good fit

  • You prefer working with big responsibilities in smaller companies rather than vice versa
  • You have experience driving the architecture and UX of web applications
  • You are passionate about your craft and solving problems with technologies
  • You understand business priorities and limitations and know how to balance them with technical considerations
  • You have your vision about what the future of work can or should be
  • You like coming up with the initiatives about what can be done about a product to make it better in many ways: technology, user experience, security, performance, maintainability
